The York Jazz Ensemble has been performing since 2000. This nine-piece jazz band is comprised of trumpet, trombone, baritone, tenor and alto saxophones, piano, bass, guitar and drums.

Complimenting the group are vocalists Beverly Taft, Sandy Faux and George Westerholm.

The group's repertoire consists of Big Band standards, swing, jazz standards (Dorsey, Miller, Ellington, Basie) Blues, Jump Tunes, Rock, Ballads and original compositions and arrangements.

Smaller groups ranging from trios to sextets can also be formed from the full ensemble to accommodate a full range of events and venues.

Some past performances include the 2007-2011 TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival at the Dominion On Queen, City of Toronto Sunday Serenades 2006-2011, the City of Toronto Winterfest 2001,Scarborough Civic Centre Concerts 2008-2012 fundraisers for the Barbara Schlifer Clinic, Stratford Music Festival, Times Change, Moorelands Camp, Urban Barn Raiser at The Distillery for TorontoArtscape, The Victory Café, The Trane Studio, The Dominion on Queen, The Performing Arts Lodge, Duke Ellington Tribute Concerts, Royal Canadian Yacht Club, Bloor Business Association, Sunnybrook Women's College Hospital, Central Park Lodges, seniors and retirement homes, service clubs, luncheons, cocktail, garden and dinner parties.
